Chilean Temple Architect Presents in Wilmette PDF Print E-mail

hariri350"Falling backward" into progress -- that is how lead architect Siamak Hariri sums up the process experienced over the past four years by the team designing the Baha'i House of Worship to be built in Santiago, Chile.

"We were traversing uncharted waters. We sometimes did not know how problems would be solved, but we are just so confident that they will be," he said on June 16 at a fundraising event for the Temple in Chile at the Baha'i House of Worship in Wilmette.

Columbus Youth Fundraise for Chilean Temple PDF Print E-mail

After returning from NEBY Fest 2007, many of the Bahá'í youth of Columbus, Ohio were inspired by the spirit of service upon which the Chilean Temple is being built. Initially unsure of which area of the Cause to raise funds for, the encouragement of the representatives from the National Center quickly helped make the decision easy. The week after returning from NEBY Fest, it was unanimously decided to hold a breakfast fundraiser for the completion of the Chilean Temple.

Youth Initiates Chile Temple Fundraiser PDF Print E-mail

It all started with a suggestion from a youth. During the Houston community's 19 Day Feast, Seena Monjazeb recommended that the community contribute to the Chile Temple Fund. The suggestion was taken to the Local Spiritual Assembly, which approved the idea and responded to Seena with a much bigger task. Seena and Afshin, friends from Friendswood, Texas, were asked to organize a fundraiser to unite the Houston area in raising money for the Temple of Light. Seena and Afshin immediately accepted the challenge and got to work hosting a "Chili for Chile Cook-off" for the community.
